Cooperation Laesad – E:UTSA 2023

  • May 2023 Internatinal artistic residency in Rabat:  The Issil association organizes, in partnership with the African League of Superior Schools of Dramatic Art (LAESAD;  E: UTSA – Europe: Union of Theatre Schools and Academies, the National Theater Mohammed V and UNESCO, an international art creative residency in Rabat (Morocco). The residency will have duration of 3 weeks in May 2023.

The Moroccan Issil association organizes, in partnership with the African League of Superior Schools of Dramatic Art (LAESAD), E: UTSA – Europe: Union of Theatre
Schools and Academies (if you accept), the National Theater Mohammed V and UNESCO, an international art creative residency in Rabat (Morocco). The residency
will have duration of 3 weeks and will be organized during the month of May 2023.

A group of drama students from several countries in Europe and Africa will take part in this residency. The residency will be supervised by a group of artists and teachers
from Morocco and a performance addressing the subject of living together will be produced, performed at the National Theater and broadcast live in the networks of all
the partners.

Participants:
– 6 young people from sub-Saharan Africa
– 10 young Moroccans
– 2-6 young people from Europe (depending on the available funds)
Conditions of participation :

LAESAD and UNESCO are responsible for covering fees (flight, accommodation and meals) for 6 students from sub-Saharan Africa. The proposed countries are: Burkina
Faso, Ivory Coast and Senegal.

E:UTSA (or member schools) is responsible for the selection of students who will participate in the residency and covering fees (flight, accommodation and meals) of
the selected students.

The Issil association is responsible for covering the fees of the trainers, local transport, coordination with African schools for the selection of students who will
participate in the residency, the costs of props and decor for the theater production and the management of the activity in Rabat. Eventually the Issil association will
cover the living expenses (accommodation and meals) of 2 European students.
