Call for proposals for Fast Forward
European Festival for Young Stage Directors
The festival will take place from 14 – 17 November 2024 at Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Germany.
It would be great if you could forward the call to your students, graduates and to young theatre artists who might fit the criteria and be interested to propose a production.
The deadline for this year’s call is 14 April 2024.
What is Fast Forward?
Annually in November Fast Forward, the European festival for young stage directors at Staatsschauspiel Dresden, invites eight productions by young directors/directing teams from all over Europe. Considered as a platform for upcoming talents, the festival presents a spectrum of different theatre forms and individual artistic voices of a young generation. Fast Forward is conceived as an intense 4-day marathon in which audiences and artists, students, critics and experienced theatre-makers cross paths as much on purpose as by chance. The festival aims to create encounters, to promote talents, and to make artistic exchange and working networks conceivable. At the end of each edition, an annually changing jury invites one of the young directors/teams to create a new work at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. There is as well an audience award and since 2022 a young jury.
